Ibrahim holds a Doctorate degree in philosophy from the Middle East
Technical University, Ankara and a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Theology and Islamic Philosophy from Ankara University, Turkey. Professor Ibrahim has a major in environmental ethics and environmental philosophy. His most recent publications include The Ethical Dimension of Human Attitude Towards Nature, 2nd edition, Insan Publications: Istanbul, 2008; Jalaluddin Rumî and Confucius: Messages and Visions for a New Century, Tugra Books: New Jersey, 2013, and Globalization, Ethics and Islam, editors: Ian Markham and Ibrahim Ozdemir, Aldershot: Ashgate. 2005. He was visiting professor of Islamic Studies at Harvard University (1998) and Hartford Seminary (2001-2003). He gives many scholarly and public lectures in Turkey, Europe, the United States, and other countries. Presently, he teaches at İpek University, Ankara.
